Removal of Disqualification
A person who has been disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for a period more than two years can apply to a court for the removal of the disqualification.
If your application is refused, a further application cannot be made until 12 months after the date of the refusal.
If you have a poor traffic history, you should consider waiting a further six months.
Process
- attain a copy of your traffic history (go to a Queensland Transport Customer Service Centre)
- attain a copy of your criminal history (you can apply at your local police station)
- complete an ‘Application for Removal of Disqualification of Driver Licence’ from the Magistrates Courts Court
- prepare a sworn document (affidavit) detailing your argument as to why the disqualification period should be removed
- appear in court and give evidence
